Neymar has left Al-Hilal by mutual agreement, the Saudi Pro League champions announced on Monday, following a disappointing spell at the club for Brazil’s all-time leading scorer.
The 32-year-old has had difficulty recovering from a knee injury he suffered during Brazil’s World Cup qualifying match against Uruguay in October 2023.
The contract between Al-Hilal Club Company and Neymar Jr. has been terminated by mutual consent. The Saudi club made a post on X.
Neymar Struggles and Early Departure from Al-Hilal
Since joining Al-Hilal from Paris St. Germain in August 2023 for an estimated 90 million euros ($98 million), Neymar has only appeared in seven games.
After leaving in 2013 to join Barcelona, Neymar, who has scored 79 goals for the national team, is set to rejoin his childhood club, Santos, according to Brazilian media.
In August 2017, he transferred from Barcelona to PSG for a record-breaking 222 million euros.
