Villarreal has announced that they have brought in Thomas Partey, a player from Ghana, after he left Arsenal when his contract ended. This move comes as a free transfer, meaning the club did not pay any fee to acquire him.
A 32-year-old soccer player who plays in the defensive midfield position has signed a contract to play for a full season. On Friday, He will begin training with the Villarreal CF team.

Last month, Partey was formally charged with the alleged rape of two women during his tenure as a player for a Premier League club. He faces five counts of rape relating to these two individuals, as well as a charge of sexual assault involving a third woman, with the incidents occurring between April 2021 and June 2022.
“The club understands that the player is currently facing legal issues in England. He strongly maintains his innocence and denies all the accusations against him,” Villarreal stated.
“The club believes that everyone should be treated fairly until proven guilty. They are waiting for the court to make a decision, which will help explain what happened. Because of British law concerning active cases, the club will not provide any more comments on this issue for now.”
