Chelsea has successfully finalized a deal to acquire Sporting Lisbon’s Geovany Quenda and Dario Essugo in a joint agreement valued at up to 74.4 million euros ($81.15 million), as confirmed by the Portuguese club on Wednesday.
The Premier League club has struck a deal worth up to 52 million euros, which includes various performance-related bonuses, for the talented 17-year-old Quenda. He garnered interest from Manchester United after being mentored by Ruben Amorim during his time at Sporting.
The Guinea-Bissau winger, set to turn 18 in April, is slated to join Chelsea in 2026.
Dario Essugo to Join Chelsea from Las Palmas This Summer
The 20-year-old Essugo, who is presently on loan at LaLiga team Las Palmas, will transfer to the London club this summer for a set fee of 22.2 million euros.
The Portuguese player made his mark as the youngest member of Sporting, stepping onto the professional stage in 2021 at just 16 years old.
